Now that spring is here our grasses are pushing back out and growing rapidly.  We will continue our grass of the month soon with new varieties

Pennisetum orientale 'Karley Rose' PP12909


Warm season grass with green foliage that gets 2.5-3' tall x 3-4' wide.  Rosy blooms start early in the season and end after the first heavy frost.  A great plant for the money with eye catching appearance all season long

The June Grass of the Month is:

Panicum virgatum 'Heavy Metal'

An upright clumping form of switchgrass with a gunmetal blue colored hue.  Gets 4 feet tall by 5 feet wide, full sun and tolerates a wide variety of soils.  We have found that it grows best in poor, compacted soils.

Miscanthus sinensis 'Huron Sunrise'

A warm season grass that sports green foliage and a arching plume.  Gets 5' tall x 3' wide, flowers in August and is hardy from zones 4-9
